Wyndham Resort at Bonnet Creek

4 nights, 2 room deluxe suite *

Check In between January 10 and January 31 **

Dear vacationer,

My name is Rick, and I have some extra points in my Wyndham Vacation Resort account, so I'd like to rent them out to you. You will not be required to attend a timeshare presentation, it will be just like staying at a hotel.

A really, REALLY nice hotel.

Wyndham's Bonnet Creek Resort is their absolutely top of the line resort, and it's "inside the gates" at Disney World in Orlando.

Located right next to Disney's own Carribean Beach Resort, the Bonnet Creek Resort is right off Lake Buena Vista Drive, mere minutes from Disney theme parks and other attractions. The aerial photo to the left shows Epcot Center, and I've watched the epcot center fireworks from the balcony of one of the rooms at Bonnet Creek.

Aside from the usual Disney attractions, it's easy to get onto Interstate 4 from here, and take a quick trip to Seaworld, Universal, and other Orlando area attractions.

Wii Fun!

So, one of the things I bought as an impulse buy on black friday was a Wii.  I was in Target and they had a big stack of them, so I bought one.  Kept it hidden away and put it under the Christmas tree as a family present.

Emily thinks it's awesome.  We only have 3 games for it so far... Wii Sports, Wee Party Games (air hockey, darts, skee ball, hoops).. and Sonic & the Magic Rings or something.  Plus all the gamecube games, nice that it supports those.

I have to admit, it is kinda fun =)

I hoe you all had a Merry Christmas!

Overheard at the bar tonight

So I stopped at Em-R-Wings tonight to pick up some BBQ wings, and I overheard two amusing things.  I may have to paraphrase cuz it was a couple hours ago.  I was standing at the bar waiting for them to finish my carryout order...

First, the folks at the bar are discussing the band Journey.  One of them said that he liked Journey with their original singer.  Makes sense to me... then he says "But then Steve Perry came along."

What?  Damn, I didn't even know Journey had an original lead singer BEFORE Steve Perry.  I thought Steve Perry *WAS* the original singer, but anyway apparently I was wrong.  How about that.

Second, I hear them talking about Christmas and religion, and one of them says, talking about something but I'm not sure what ... "And they made it all religious" and another one says "Well, you gotta expect all that religious crap at Christmas time."

Hah.  Admittedly, the Christians did kinda take over Christmas from the pagans but still, I thought it was kinda funny.  Christmas *IS* a religious holiday and really only became the retail giant that it is maybe in the last 50 years.

Build a Class Reunion Web Site FREE!

Lately I've been doing a lot of freelance work for my friend Brad, who started a web site called ClassCreator.  It's a site that lets you easily build a class web site, and includes tools for planning a class reunion.

We see stuff like this all the time...

I just want to say "Thank You" to the creators and whomever runs this site. We set ours up in September and our classmates love it. Our 40 yr reunion won't be until next September (09) but our website has created so much interest. They are uploading photos and using the message forum almost daily.

Don't rely on other classmate sites that give you very little control, and build a site with www.classcreator.com for your class!

It's so easy, a caveman could do it!

Emily's performance at the RSA Reindeer Meet

Last weekend, Emily participated in the RSA's Reindeer Meet.  She swam 50 yard events for freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterlfy.   She set personal bests in backstroke (1:05.76, an improvement of 1.53 seconds) and freestyle (0:59.49, an improvement of 9.51 seconds).  She got DQed again in both butterfly and breast stroke, but she's looking better.  I don't yet know the reasons for the DQs but I suspect it had something to do with her kicks.  It definately wasn't the two-hand touch this time.

We're very proud of her!

Dave Park's Best Rum Cake Ever

                              THE BEST RUM CAKE EVER
                            --------------------------

1 or 2 quarts of Rum
1 c butter
1 tsp. sugar
2 large eggs
1 c dried fruit
baking power
1 tsp. soda
lemon juice
brown sugar
*nuts

Before you start, sample the Rum to check for quality. Good isn't it?
Now go ahead and select a large mixing bowl, measuring cup, etc. Check the Rum
again... it must be just right. To be sure the Rum is of the highest quality,
pour one level cup of Rum into glass and drink it as fast as you can. REPEAT.

With an electric mixer beat one cup of butter in a large fluffy bowl.
Add 1 seaspoon of thugar and beat again. Meanwhile make sure the Rum is of
the finest quality, try another cup. Open second quart if necessary.

Add 2 arge leggs, 2 cups fried druit and beat til high, if the druit
gets stuck in beaters, just pry it loose with a drewscriver. Sample Rum again,
checking for tonscisticity.

Next, sift 2 cups of pepper or salt (it really doesn't matter). Sample
Rum again. Sift 1/2 pint of lemon juice, fold in chopped butter and strained
nuts. Add one babblespoon of brown thugar or what ever color you can find and
wix mell.

Grease oven and turn cake pan to 350 gredees. Now pour the whole mess
onto the coven and ake. Check the Rum again and bo to bed.
