Tired of conflicting nutritional news?

For those of you who watch what you eat, here's the final word on nutrition and health. It's a relief to know the truth after all those conflicting nutritional studies.

  1. The Japanese eat very little fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  2. The Mexicans eat a lot of fat and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  3. The Chinese drink very little red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  4. The Italians drink a lot of red wine and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.
  5. The Germans drink a lot of beers and eat lots of sausages and fats and suffer fewer heart attacks than Americans.

Eat and drink what you like.

Speaking English is apparently what kills you.

I agree.. who knows what researchers will have on the headlines "Researchers have determined that oatmeal is not good for your cholesterol, we have now discovered that chocolate actually reduces your cholesterol. Wait and see if this happens, that would be nice..

Re: Tired of conflicting nutritional news?
I've removed synthetics from my diet and most fried foods. Most artificial food colorings and flavorings, plus BHA/BHT/TBHQ preservatives, are petroleum based. That can't be good for your neurology. The hydrogenated (trans) fat in fried foods and the TBHQ preservative often used in the frying oil (and often unlisted) is bad news.

Fish once or twice a week is good too, preferably wild caught rather than farm raised (fewer toxins). Helps keep the omega-3/omega-6 essential fatty acid ratio in balance. The brain is 60-70% fat.

And finally there's exercise, the lack of which is probably why Americans have higher rates of cardiovascular disease than most of the rest of the world.

I guess the short answer is to shop at Whole Foods and get out for a walk.
